Eliminating Lip Service

August 26, 2009 | 65 Comments »

This morning it seemed angels were passing a message through via a song planted in my head as I woke up.

The song was something like, if you couldn’t say I love you, how would I know you did?

At first I thought they were schooling me to be better to Russ.

But that wasn’t it.

What they meant was in terms of manifesting.  Here goes, my best translation of what the message was about:

* * * * * * * *

I, for one, rely strongly on words to manifest.  Writing them, speaking them, thinking them.  And, surely, words are powerful.

But … to ensure your actions are serving your manifesting intentions, be aware of the message that Universe is receiving from you irrespective of what you’re saying.

Imagine the only instruction you gave Universe came from your actions and behavior.

How would your instruction be interpreted?

For example:

I have had a client or two (or 20) who SAY they are managing their vibration quite well, that they are (no, Judie, I’m talking about you this time – you are beautifully self-aware) .. they SAY they are feeling positive and focused on what they want and lined up vibrationally with it and they believe it, but as I spend more time with them it becomes clear that that’s what they know SHOULD be true, that’s what they WISH were true, but the reality is that they’re living with doubt and fear and discouragement, etc.

So while their words may be all love and light, their vibration isn’t.

But the morning message was to focus on action more – not just vibration in general.  Let me get back on topic.

If you couldn’t tell someone you loved them, how would you show them?

If you couldn’t TELL Universe what you wanted, how would you send that instruction? (Hint: smoke signals aren’t the answer.)

It’s not a secret language of words – action is a vibrational language, too.

We know like attracts like.  So if we ensure our actions are lined up with what we want, that would be good.

Like when we say we want to be wealthy, but we’re acting out of poverty.  Or when we say we want to be loved, but our actions scream that we’re not.

Line your actions up with your (manifesting) words.  Leave it at that.

I think I can come up with a good example.

A personal one.

What they mean is don’t rely so heavily on your words – get your actions lined up, too.

I shall line up my actions with my intentions.

Oh – got a great opportunity in front of me.

I just wrote on my whiteboard earlier this week that (and this is verbatim – may have done it more carefully had I known it’d be shared!):

“I just created a knock your socks off rock star life-changing money vibe product that is THE ANSWER folks have been looking for!  YAY! :)”

Then I listed the feelings associated: ecstatic, proud, thrilled, excited, accomplished and in high service.

And topped it off with: “I am the best at what I do!”

So, although I think the actual action of creating the product will be important, I should ensure my actions are also sending that signal.

Not the actions of ‘I want to create this amazing, transformational product,’ or that ‘I’m working on it,’ but that ‘it is created.’

What would that look like, I wonder?

Hmm.  Can’t wait to tell you after I find out!!

PS – have you seen blisscals?  Just heard about these today!

Very cute. Nicely done. I appreciate your angels’ message to you because you’ve shifted me in ways that nobody else could in a very short time just by showing me how my vibe makes a huge difference, but I’m an action person in many ways (being a lawyer and the child of two must be doing something parents) so this message speaks to me.

I don’t have much to add that will give an ah-ha to anyone out there, but I do know you always say where your actions lift your vibe, then by all means go for it. Sometimes I do things in that order, and my actions inspire my vibe which then leads to inspired action.

This message also reminds me to pay attention to my actions and underlying thoughts even when I’m saying and writing what I want (that is not yet reality). It can feel funny to pretend until it is real, but I love the challenge to do it even in my actions.

We looked at a house that is way outside the realm of anything I ever dreamed I might live in last weekend and I felt two things: 1) complete appreciation for the house, the large property it is on and the possibility which immediately turned my set-point up and invited me into a new realm of living, and 2) an instant tug from my old set-point and values that say it’s too much house, it’s a waste of money, it’s a lot of up keep financially, and it’s just a status symbol.

Lots of invitations from the Universe that I’m grateful for and homework that I’m enjoying!

I shall act as if living in that house is as easy as living in the house I own now. 🙂

  2. Dana, your house hunting experience sounds a LOT like mine! And here I sit in it.
    🙂
    Stranger things happen, girlfriend!

  3. Mitch says:

How interesting! And I love that song your angels chose for you. 🙂

I’m trying to think up some actions that would be in alignment with my goals…

Maybe an example could be cleaning all of the junk out of my car so that I’m ready to sell it/give it away when my brand new car comes in.

Does that seem like what you’re talking about?

Or taking a new acting class (which I’m doing!) not only to brush up my skills, but to ACT. To actually do what it is that I say I want to do.

Or to stay in bed some morning and skip work so that I can more readily feel the ease of self-employment and passive income. lol I’ll call in and say Jeannette’s angels told me to. 😀

  4. Ha! Mitch you’re making me laugh!

And giving me a great inspiration …

Yeah, not just cleaning out the car in anticipation of selling it …

But even driving this car like you would your brand new one!

Did you hear the story about that guy who drove an old clunker but he treated her like gold … talked to her like she was a real gem, and eventually he was driving a new Caddy? I like those powers of imagination put into action.

Thanks for giving me a better feel for what I’m shooting for here, Mitch! Much appreciated!
    🙂

  5. Adrienne says:

hmmm….So is there a distinction between the kind of action about which you’re writing (channeling 🙂 ) AND the type of action that is really just proactively making what you want happen (i.e., more work/action, less “creative VISUALIZATION” to manifest an outcome)?

I am still trying to get a handle on the difference between 1) “inspired action” and 2) work …aka action that most of us were taught is how we get anywhere (hard work, etc.) … and now what **seems** (??) to be a third type of action 3) “aligned action” (for lack of better phrase). Are these 3 different types of actions? If so, how do we distinguish them (i.e., do all these “types” come from a different motivational space or mindset)? thanks in advance for any clarity! 🙂

  6. Good questions, Adrienne.

I’m hesitant to let it feel too complicated … and searching for the simple distinctions.

I have to be honest, I don’t think I could say it better than you just did! Thoughts, everyone else?

(And for the record, I don’t think this one was as much channeled as it was dictated. It felt more like a dialogue with someone on the outside, whereas I think I’ve felt that “channeling” before where it just comes as a download from within. Either way, it’s cool!)

  7. Yepper skipper, Erik! I agree!

And I love that I’m not the only one who has room for improvement on this point.

Here’s to setting free love and happiness! 🙂

PS – thanks for the translation – I was wondering about that!

  8. I think you nailed it with this, Tshombe:

“In other words, for whatever I want to manifest, what actions would illustrate to the Universe that I already have it (vibrationally)?”

    That’s exactly it.

    (Goose bumps!)

THANK YOU! I’m going to let this one settle in to reveal what those actions might be for my particular manifestation.

  9. Wow, I really, really love this post!! Took me a few times to really grasp its power, but I finally got it:)

Anyway, I think in terms of action, the angels are trying to tell you that when you are wanting to manifest something, take actions that show just HOW confident you are that the particular thing is going to manifest. This not only lines up the vibe, but it also guarantees you are taking action to get you closer to whatever it is you desire.

For example, they always say you have to *really* let go of an ex before a new person can appear in your life. You may be saying you want a new relationship, are ready for a new partner, etc. and you might even be pray rain journaling about it! But if you’re still talking to the ex, even on a “friendly” basis, exchanging occasional emails, holding onto pictures of them, etc. then you’re not really showing the Universe that you’re ready for a new relationship. Instead, you’re showing the Universe that you kinda sorta want a new relationship, but you’re also kinda sorta scared it won’t happen, so in the meantime you’ll just hang onto this person… you know, just in case! 😉 Haha, been there, done that.

Sure, it can take a lot of work to get to that place where you can truly let the ex go… but don’t be surprised if right after you let them go, someone new appears! You finally showed the Universe you trusted it to provide you with a new relationship, and it delivered, right on schedule. And then you’ll be wondering why you didn’t release the ex sooner!

  10. Mary, I’m sending this comment of yours to a client! Very well said … thanks for it!

  11. Patricia says:

The essence of what you are talking about is captured, for me, in a quote I heard from Lynda Austin that “hit bone” and changed the way I saw myself in relationship with the world: It is this:
Fear says: Do this and you’ll be safe.
    Love says: You ARE safe.

  12. Erik says:

    Hi Jeannette!
Had to laugh at the coast guard – absolutely hilarious ;). The other guy says: ‘This is my sector … this is the most important device of a coast guard, and this device, and this device … survival radar!! *slaps back of trainee*’.
Well for me your message translates to letting go of old fears. I’ll explain: sometimes we pay loa lipservice on and on and nothing moves. My take on that would be: I did not change the right part of my vibe and still have to figure out what it is.
The more I think / feel about it, these resistances boil down to extremely powerful (or so they feel) and old emotional patterns (i.e. pain, hurt love, desperation etc.) that are still present vibrationally. Otherwise things would move.
Now the action part comes in – in order to ‘disprove’ these old patterns vibration-wise I have to use one of the currencies of life and loa: action. Not only must I think / feel ‘yay, these are behind me, my life has changed, happiness can come flowing into my life’ – I must act so.
At least for my part, I *totally* don’t act like it has changed so huge thanks for your article. Hope this will crack the old patterns and set free love and happiness ^^.
Curious about what the others have to say.
As always, enjoy your day 🙂

  13. Tshombe says:

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I’m screaming laughing at that video, Jeannette!…..what a great example of (poor) communication.

Anyway, the first thought that came to mind was taking “inspired action,” toward the manifestation of our goals.

But, as I continued to read your post, it’s far deeper than that…..or perhaps it is indeed “inspired action,” but I’m deriving deeper meaning from it because of your post.

Whatever the case, I was struck with your comment:

“Not the actions of I want to create this amazing, transformational product, or that I’m working on it, but that it is created.”

“What would that look like, I wonder?”

In other words, for whatever I want to manifest, what actions would illustrate to the Universe that I already have it (vibrationally)?

    What a GREAT question, Jeannette.

I imagine that having both the thought, the emotion, and the action vibrationally aligned in exactly this more precise, inspired way that your angels have revealed is how to manifest instantly.

There could be no gap between asking and allowing, as the steps would be one and the same.

    What are your thoughts?

  14. That’s profound, Patricia. Thanks for the contribution!

  15. Dana - Your Inspried Coach says:

Another thought that came to me reading Tshombe’s comment is from your client attraction course, where you asked us “How does a booked coach answer the phone? How does a booked coach walk through the parking lot at the grocery store? Eat dinner? Play with their dogs? Pay their bills, etc?” (Not a direct quote, but you asked that question in a similar way.)

So, apply that to any outcome you desire. How does a happily married to this guy woman treat this guy, deal with other guys, treat her finances, etc?

How does a sought after author on the best seller list go about her day?

How does a wildly wealthy entrepreneur spend her day, her money, etc?

I could go on…you get the idea. Any helpers?

  16. Robert says:

OK, Here’s MY take on this:
It seems to me that the question is, “What is the best way to ask the Universe what we want without using words.” And like Jeannette, my first thought was: with actions. If we suddenly couldn’t talk, we would start using jestures and hand motions. Life would suddenly become a giant game of charades.
Ah, but then I thought, “What if I could not use words OR actions? What then?” And I love that question because it leads me to think about things like thoughts, beliefs, desires, mental images, telepathy etc. What if I became a master at those things?
And it all starts with having a CLEAR MENTAL IMAGE of exactly what I want. There was a story on the local news today about a woman who is sculpting a giant stone into the image of a bear. In the report she said, “The bear is in there, I can see it.” And although she does have to keep chipping away at that boulder, the key is seeing the bear that doesn’t yet exist (in the physical world.)
That’s just MY take on the subject.
    Robert

  17. Kind and generous of you, Erik – thanks!

And Dana, I’m feeling a big DUH in reading your comment! That’s it! I HAVE said that before, haven’t I? lol

So that’s what I’m bringing to life. Thanks for the reminder, girlfriend.

And Robert – you’re taking us to a whole new frontier. WOO HOO!!!

  18. Erik says:

You’re welcome for the translation – thought you might wanna know.
@SelfHelfGoddess: Yay, letting go is the keyword. Clinging never amounts to much. I will stay tuned to things to come since I am walking my talk and letting go and falling into the lap of life ^^.

ps.: Anyone got a little translating to do (from German or French to English), give me a call / send me a message (I will add myself to the resource list) – I’ll be glad to do it for free :).

  19. Yes!
This is how I do it, although I never consciously thought about it.

Here’s an example. Late last year, I realized that one thing I wanted to do was help someone else build/manage their company in a coaching/helping context. At first, a couple of potential opportunities came my way and I thought “this is it!” and I would get really excited and invested in them. Then, they didn’t pan out and I was really disappointed.

See, I was looking for someone else to bring me a solution.

What I did instead was mind my own business. Figuratively and literally. I focused on growing my own practice, doing what feels fun, self-coaching and well, minding my own biz. My action reinforced my calm in relaxed state because when I stayed in my own business and did all these great things for myself, I absolutely believed that exactly what I wanted would come along. But I didn’t even think about it because I was having fun doing my thing.

Then I got the best possible gig I could ever imagine that was so exactly what I wanted but never even envisioned. And, I didn’t do a thing to get it. Except mind my own business.

    Make sense?

  20. Bridgette, that’s funny, because I was just thinking about this very thing yesterday!

Tshombe congratulated me on some good news I’d shared on twitter, and asked if I’d be posting about how I manifested it.

I tweeted back a quote from my dad that he used to say in jest, but perfectly describes what you just posted here. I’m doing a whole post on it! Can I include your story in it?

  21. Dana - Your Inspried Coach says:

That’s funny, Jeannette. I felt like the teacher’s pet for a minute, but there’s so much juicy content to think about here from other rock stars too!

  22. Mags says:

I love this post from your angels, Jeannette!

I resonated so much with the example you gave of your clients SAYING they’re managing their vibration, yet not yet really LIVING the new vibration, as I had first hand experience of this last week.

I thought I was vibrating positively and abundantly, but nothing much was happening, so I realised something was “off” with my vibration. I decided to tape myself (just using my digital camera, which has a movie function) talking about my financial situation so that I could look at myself objectively.

What an eye-opener! The whole time I was talking, I thought I was doing well and sounding optimistic. When I watched myself, however, I was struck by how many times I said the word “okay” (as in “I’m doing okay, finances are okay”) and how resigned and gloomy I sounded every time I said it (kinda like Eeyore!) 🙂

Well, I definitely want a financial situation that is much more than just “okay”. So I recorded myself again, making a conscious effort to change my vocabulary and tone. Much better on playback – I looked happier! And the next day… boom – a new client, plus a product sale!

I’d highly recommend recording oneself as a way to see whether everything’s lining up!!

  23. Mags, you are freakin’ brilliant!!!

I often ask clients (and do it myself, too) to imagine being Universe and see what signal Universe is getting from you. It’s a way to ask them to get objective about what they’re really vibrating.

I never thought of actually TAPING IT!!!! You are SO on it!!!

Who else is going to do this?! I can’t WAIT to hear what nuggets of truth are revealed for others!

  24. Adrienne says:

hmmm … Bridgette’s example (sorry – am not being cricital, solely trying to understand) is where I get lost in trying to distinguish between what **I** consider the result of more LOA-ish processes such as “thoughts become things” (let’s call this a metaphysical approach) versus the result of hard work or the generally accepted principles of “go out and get it” (a motivational approach). If I were to tell an LOA skeptic “yeah, well I went and built my business and as a result business starting coming in”, I don’t think I could convince them that my thoughts became things but rather, that my actions were the catalyst. It just seems to me obvious based on my **old** way of thinking that of course, if one puts a lot of focus into building their business, more likely than not (word of mouth, marketing, etc.) some (even a little) business (including “cool gigs”) will come to them. Pinning such results to successful “manifesting” (whether through “words” or otherwise) via the LOA seems like we can say that everything we DO is a result of LOA (which I know everyone will say it is, lol, but to me there is a difference between hard work and everything we’re trying to learn/practice such as intentionally visualizing/manifesting).

It’s not that we don’t need actions (i.e., my laundry will not get cleaned unless I put it in the washer), and I do understand “inspired action”, BUT I thought LOA values deeper spiritual and emotional channels as primary in the process whereas “motivational” methods value “action”. Both methods work, of course. It’s just that based on what I’ve been learning, one method requires a lot more active effort. There’s a great book called “The Attraction Distraction: Why the LOA Isn’t Working for YOu” that has a chapter that describes exactly (and better 🙂 ) the motivational vs. metaphysical approaches. The author DOES say that metaphyiscal does incorporate some action (inspired) but relies more on the “female” yin/yang energies of opening, allowing, listening, receiving, letting, revealing, surrendering (versus the male ones … finding, making, doing, developing, taking action, going out, getting…).

  25. You’ve given lots of food for thought, Adrienne. (Thanks for the book reference, too!)

I’m stuck on the thought that my laundry gets cleaned even though I don’t touch the washer.

(Russ is really good at laundry. He does it way sooner than I would and shrinks nothing. He’s like the laundry king. In fact, I’m not allowed to do his. I’m practically banned from the washroom. hee hee Although sometimes I do towels but I don’t balance the load right and so it’s just best if I not attempt to wash anything.)

And Tshombe, I owe it all to clean living. hee hee

    (That’s my dad’s signature phrase.)

Maybe I should come back when I’m in a more serious mood, huh? lol

  26. Ooh, Jenny, I’m having SUCH beautiful visions of you with bent rebar!! woo hoo!!

Great ideas you posted here! (It’d be great to hear from you on the Q&A post on this topic!)

And with this one: “What would I do if my mortgage were paid off?”

Like Robert brought up in the next Q&A post, you could feel it out first, and then you’ll likely find new actions following.

PS – do you know my experience in paying off the mortgage? It was a wasted effort. I was on the wrong track. what I wanted wasn’t a zero balance mortgage loan, what I REALLY wanted was … something else. (Freedom, security, etc.) I didn’t realize that until it was paid off. This might be a fun topic for a money call – I learned SO MUCH from that experience.

  27. I’m with Jenny, she just articulated the point better.

If I felt secure that I would get the perfect opportunity, then I would just be going about my business.

    So that’s what I did. 😉

  28. Jenny says:

This is a very funny post, Jeannette!

I liked Mitch’s examples, so I tried to come up with a few of my own.

If I had a cute golden lab puppy:
    – I would go for several short neighborhood walks each day. (I can do that now, and it even sounds fun without the puppy.)
    – I would buy books on puppy training and start browsing.

If I were going to Koelle’s next horse workshop (or Martha’s African Star):
    – I would practice bending rebar. I think I’ll go buy some this afternoon!).

If I had an overflowing wait-list of clients:
    – I would have scheduling software on my website.
    – I would be taking credit cards. (Time to do those, I guess.)

One that I’m having trouble with: What would I do if my mortgage were paid off? I’ll have to let that one stew for awhile.

This is fun to think about. Thanks for the idea!

  29. Denise Canellos says:

This is so wise! I have been sitting around, scared to really start my own independent nutrition practice, and stuck in the “feeling good with good thoughts, but not sure which action to take” mode. I’ve been waiting until one of the opportunities feels “perfect”, and then I will pursue that, while really I have been just afraid to take any action.
Now I have been kicked in the tush to realize that what I need to do is pursue all good opportunities (since they are sent by the Universe to help me manifest), and then the ones that come to fruition are meant to be. Nothing will come to fruition without at least a little action on my part. 🙂 While I may be thinking the right thoughts, I also need to send my action vibration to the universe to make this dream a reality.
Thank you, Jeannette! Your angels are very smart. 😉

  30. Glad you got something from it, Denise! Thanks for posting.

    You too, Iyabo! 🙂

  31. Iyabo Asani, The Inner Genius Coach says:

For me again it is that experience of heartswell – feeling now what you want to feel then with every fiber of your being and practicing it until it becomes second nature and you have a permanent smile on your face.

    Iyabo

  32. Judiesjuice says:

Wait, are you sure this isn’t about me Jeannette 🙂 Ha ha! I need to absorb your post and think about it. What would I do differently once I am published in those magazines? I am not sure if I would do anything differently! Of course I would add those magazines to my resume. And, I would write about it when I emailed editors. But, at this point, I don’t feel comfortable taking those actions.

Perhaps it depends on where you are at on the manifestation cycle? When I first had that dream, I thought about it a lot. Then, I started taking action to make it happen, researching, submitting my ideas, working with you, pray raining, etc… I’m at the point of releasing and allowing it to happen and becoming focused on manifesting other exciting opportunities 🙂

By the way, I think it’s beyond cool that your Angels have communicated with you. So amazing. I have been thinking about that a lot, opening myself up to Source and doing whatever Source/God/Universe wants me to do, write, etc….

  33. Judie, maybe you could add that to your resume right now, and have two versions of it. The one you give to people now, and the one you’ll be giving to them soon.

It’s pretty cool to have that in the computer, even! Or post a copy of it on your board!

I was watching 60 Minutes the other day, and noticed the screen saver on one of their computers was a big beautiful CBS logo. And I thought, wow, if I were manifesting a job at CBS, I would find a way to create a screensaver for my computer that looked JUST like that!

Lots of ways we can bring this stuff to life, immersing ourselves in the details of what it’d be like, without spending lots of money or feeling like we’re outright lying.

  34. Judiesjuice says:

PS- That song- omg. I went to a Catholic High School (actually same high school as Sonia Sotomayor). I will never forget this. My home room teacher freshman year also taught religion class. That song must have just come out. She was talking to us about saving ourselves for marriage. She used that song as an example, ie, it’s your wedding night and your husband tells you he loves you. And you shrug your shoulders because you cannot tell him you love him since you have already “loved” someone else first. I am laughing as I think back to that day.

  35. Intuitive Girl says:

This is my first time finding this blog and I really like it. One thing that has sometimes discouraged me about affirmations is that they don’t work if you don’t believe them. If I say I want to lose weight but I eat fattening foods and don’t exercise, all of the words I say won’t make a difference. I do think words come from the head but actions come from the heart so one’s actions are closer to their true essence.

  36. Judiesjuice says:

Intuitive Girl, you have to check out Jeannette’s previous post on Affirmations and Afformations: http://goodvibeblog.com/2009/08/10/better-questions-for-the-vibe/

The bottom line is (at least I believe this to be true), you get what you believe. So, if you believe you need to eat fat free foods and exercise 3x a week for 1 hour in order to lose weight, that is probably what you need to do in order to lose weight. If someone believes their metabolism is super fast and they can eat whatever they want and not gain a pound (like my husband), it will be true for them.

Perhaps the saying is true “actions are louder than words.” Hmmmm…..

But say, you take action but you are still thinking “This is such a dumb idea, why am I even bothering doing this, it’s never going to work……” then, it probably won’t work.

So, perhaps thoughts, actions, words, everything needs to be in alignment for the manifestation to occur.

But, I bet Jeannette’s Angels were simply advising us to take a step- a baby step- whatever, do something to make your dream come true. Just one thing that tells the Universe, hey, wait a second, she really means what she has been asking for, saying, pray raining, etc….

  37. Thanks for chiming in, Intuitive Girl! Always nice to meet someone new here!

Your post is making me think of the teenage girl who was kidnapped by the substitute teacher. (I think that was his job, anyway.) He kept her in his motel room. He told her she couldn’t leave, and he gave her a new name.

When a maid tipped off the FBI three and half months later that she thought the missing girl was being held in the motel room, they burst in to rescue her, asked her if she was whatever her real name was, and her answer was, “No, my name is … and she gave the fake name.”

Not because she was scared to reveal who she was. But because she really believed her name was the name the kidnapper gave her.

    She’d been brainwashed.

Affirmations work. (See, that’s one I use often – ha!)

I guarantee on day one she didn’t believe her new name. (Well, how could I guarantee that?) But hearing it often enough, she got on board with it.

She was a TEENAGER. Not a toddler.

We can convince ourselves of ANYTHING we choose to.

Including that chocolate makes us rich and healthy. Including that we lose weight while we sleep. Including that the more I goof off, the more my business thrives. Including that this place is CRAWLING with fabulous men. Including that I’m a brilliant coach in high demand.

    Now I’m on a rant.

I get a little triggered when someone says affirmations don’t work. (That’s an affirmation that’ll work if you keeping working it!)

Morgana Rae wouldn’t post my very polite and appreciative comment that argued to the congrary on her blog post where she said affirmations were crap.

But … you want to have some real fun? Play with Afformations.

And if you’re on twitter, check out @NoahStJohn and the #afform page. I think you’ll like it!

(And if you ARE on twitter, what’s your handle so I can make sure I’m following you?)

Thanks for adding to this delicious conversation here, Intuitive Girl! Looking forward to hearing more from you!

  38. Ha! Look at us sitting on the same page, Judie!! lol

  39. Leslie Richter says:

Etta is 91 years old with the biggest warm brown eyes ever!!! She tells me that she moved onto the island 20 years ago, sold her house because – she never had money and wouldn’t know what to do with it. They sold the house and gave the money to their three girls.
And bought 4 acres of waterfront property ( for $19,000. and started clearing the land, milling wood and making a cabin.
I had the most amazing time with this woman there was so much light and pure kindness in her – she had no axes to grind and looked at each day as a gift. And her 94 year old ailing husband beamed just as much love.
I have been around kind people before but this was difference they made me feel wonderful being around them.
Maybe it was just astounding meeting two people who were kind with one another, who obviously had always been that way and lived the walk.
That’s my interpetation of your angels song – live the walk.

    Love Leslie

  40. I get it. You can insist, “But I love you!”, but if you’re beating the person up as you say it, you’re not actually vibrating love. 😉

The thing is, HOW do you act “wealthy” if you’re not? Wealthy people pay all their bills on time and spend money on things they want and need, right? What if you haven’t got the money to do that? How on earth are you supposed to act out a vibe of “I’m wealthy” without sending yourself into debt and maybe bankruptcy?

Also, with something like health. How do you act like you’re not diabetic? Or act like you don’t have arthritis? How do you act healthy if you’re not?

I keep asking this, and have asked it for years. So far, I’ve never gotten a satisfactory answer. I hope someone here… no. I’m SURE that someone here will be able to answer that in a way that makes perfect sense to me and gives me an “ah hah!” moment. 🙂

So, thank you to whomever has that answer for me. I know you’re there, and you’ll put it into words I can understand.

  41. Annette says:

Once again, the timing is ever so pertinent!
Thank you, Bridgette B for providing a most-needed (and hopefully Heeded) big Fat Clue to what the messengers are telling me (I get the mental picture of some Guides and Angels playing a game of Euchre to pass time til I Get It).
I was given ‘The LoA is Obedient’ and ‘Prove to Me You are Ready’. ‘Prove to me you are ready’ is exactly what Jeannette is talking about! I sat outside (where these things habitually come to me – perhaps my office should be there), and got the feeling of the balmy evening at the beach house. It was so strong that I just sat there soaking it up. I live in Phoenix, AZ ~ not what you’d call near the beach. I do believe I can conjure this feeling any time if I just think about it! YAY Progress!! I am not just feeling it, I am putting myself THERE.
‘The LoA is Obedient’ ~ I’ve trained many dogs, and this is what comes to mind. You have to find the common language when you’re training anything ~including yourself~ and I am seeing the Universe as a great big happy eager-to-please German Shepherd right now. If I sit here and moan to my neighbor “I wish Mojo would sit for me. All I want is for him to sit – why won’t he sit?” Mojo will never get the message! Or if Mojo knows how to roll over, but now I want that signal to mean Sit, he’s going to look at me with that confused look dogs do so well.

  42. Berta Bauer, Lighthouse Coaching and Retreats says:

I appreciate all the responses as well as Jeanette’s post that opened this discussion. Growing up on a farm I have action ingrained in me to the point that visualization, feeling as I already have what I want and vibrating at that frequency has felt like I am not DOING enough. I have been using Iyabo’s heart swell for a short time to bring myself into alignment with the buyers of our house, and it is a really cool way to dissolve any negative feelings that are counter to what you want.

I shared the gist of this post and the many responses with my husband. I discovered that we both have been thinking about moving the shop tools from our for sale house’s garage to our new house. This is something we will do when . . . 215 Birch Drive is SOLD! We will do it now! I also have a few payments to make and I will write those checks out.

The funny thing about this house and property is that everyone loves it so much that we have always wondered if we should keep it. Thank you, Self Help Goddess, for your explanation of keeping your Ex’s pictures, continuing to email and keep in contact with him/her; all the while not making room for the new love of your life. We are going to move our stuff out and make room for the new owner–and our new freedom to travel and pursue our dreams.

    It is a great post.

  43. timmy says:

I think that the angels are reminding us to act with inspiration of our intentions. When you have a desire, you can’t force it to happen, but when you allow yourself to be inspired to action, things fall into place easily. If your action is lined up with your intention, it feels good, simple as that.

  44. Beautiful example, Leslie. Thank you for that!

Annette, you crack me up! (Angels playing games to pass the time.)

Your example with the dogs is a powerful one.

And yay for moving the tools, Berta!!

And Timmy, it is as simple as that, isn’t it? Thanks for posting. 🙂

  45. Please post responses to Caterpillar Woman’s fabulous question on this separate Q&A post, please:

    Here it is:

  46. Jeannette — thank you for the Laugh!

I am actually in the process of going over to Europe to visit my sweetie . . . there is a mix of German, Dutch, French, etc. . . . my German is so rusty and French, well . . . Love You and your messages. . . .

    Caterpillar Woman — great questions!

  47. MissyB says:

I woke up yesterday morning singing “Mississippi” ! Best I google the lyrics ! LOL !

  48. Judiesjuice says:

Jeannette, thank you for the suggestions! I never thought to have updated my resume in advance. That’s a great, simple thing to do that I feel comfortable doing 🙂

As you know, I have sent out emails announcing my good news 🙂 It felt good doing that but also silly since my heart knew it wasn’t true. But it wasn’t true at that moment. It will be true this week 🙂

  49. Robert says:

I LOVE this idea. Have you ever wanted to help someone who is having financial struggles but you didn’t want them to know that the money came from you? Here’s how you can do it:
    http://givinganon.org/

  50. Annette says:

    Robert,
That is the coolest idea! I love stuff like that.

  51. intuitivemove says:

Behind every action there is a belief…check it for yourself. Things are not lining up for you…check what you believe…genuinely believe. Actions will follow what you believe..regardless of being conscious of it or not. The key to all of this is to be aware of you and what you are projecting outwardly. Notice your actions…regardless of how insignificant they may seem. No need to do this every second of the day…but perhaps take one day and notice what you are actually doing. Beliefs will start to emerge that possibly you didn’t know were directing your actions. All of this can be done in a fun way…no need to be serious about it

  52. karim says:

Very thoughtfull post on creative visualization. It should be very much helpfull

  53. Nat Couropmitree says:

I am just joining this discussion (many months later), likely because this is what I really need to hear now and process.

I wanted to comment on work vs. inspired/aligned action.

I think we are so conditioned to take action based on what we think we need to do or based on how everyone else is doing it. This is the work that Annette referred to. And work based on should’s, could’s or have-to’s doesn’t give us the power to manifest what we want. When we don’t get what we want we then think we need to do more and work harder. No fun in that! I think what happens when we approach our manifestations this way is that we literally lose ourselves in the process. We end up valuing the process and the end result more than we value ourselves. We disappear.

(hmm… wondering if I’m making any sense.)

When we follow inspired actions, these are actions taken with us (spirit) in them. Inspired = In Spirit. We become part of the process. We’re aligned with the actions and the actions are aligned with us. So I believe aligned actions are the same as inspired actions. Also inspired actions feel good, light and expansive. Feeling good is our soul’s way of letting us know that we’re in alignment with who we really are.

So this is the way to tell whether we’re getting inspired/aligned actions or just work. If it feels good, we’re aligned. And as long as we follow the good vibes, we’ll stay aligned and continue to get inspired actions.

(Make sense? It’s okay if it doesn’t. At this point I’m just working this out for myself anyway. 🙂 And if it serves you, cool!)

So I guess the conclusion I’m coming to is that just taking action is not enough. Each action must include you – your energy – your essence. Each action is done deliberately, with intent, with purpose.

To answer this question, “if you couldn’t say I love you, how would I know you did?”

I would embody love and put love into everything I did so that there was no question at all that I love you. You would know by seeing me smile, be eating the meals I cooked with love, by the way I look at you… by the way I AM.

When I choose to be love and infuse every action, every experience, every thought, every moment with love, all I experience is more love.

  54. Tshombe says:

    Nat,

That is a brilliant post. I love your personal integration and concrete articulation of what being in flow really means.

What you’ve explained is aligned with the essence of the curriculum I’m putting together for an upcoming group coaching program and as you say “if it serves you, cool!”

    It does!

    Thank you.

Sending much love & gratitude ~

    Tshombe

  55. Nat Couropmitree says:

Tshombe, Thanks so much for your love, gratitude and support. Glad that I could serve.

    ….

I had been reviewing my comment above just so that I could absorb at a deeper level and this idea came to me to share.

When you take actions that in alignment with you, everything is just easier. You become part of the process. You’re part-nering with yourself. In a sense, you become the process or the process/action is an extension of you – instead of something outside of you. You’re one. This connection to yourself, connects you to Source, which puts you in the flow, which just feels good. So follow the good vibes.

  56. Annette says:

Nat, I agree with Tshombe – Brilliant post!
You make TONS of sense. Inspired action does always feel good and light, even if it doesn’t seem to ‘make sense’ at the time.
I absolutely love your end question and the answer. It is so true and easy – yet sometimes (often) we make it so difficult.
Let me tell you – I would jump at the chance to be around someone who was in alignment and happy about the Now, but I would jump at the chance to walk away from someone who is so driven with actions that they lose their essence and Why’s for their dreams.
The 1st person embodies Love, and the 2nd embodies struggle.
    Thank you Nat!

  57. Nat Couropmitree says:

You’re very welcome Annette. Happy I could enlighten/affirm through my own experience. 🙂

  58. Adrienne says:

Nat – I just forwarded your response around to a bunch of friends. I agree – brilliant, and I especially love the new insight into the derivation of the word “inspired”, because, personally, I just love words.

  59. Berta Bauer, Lighthouse Coaching and Retreats says:

Nat, I am so embroiled in working hard but so far from being inspired. I suppose this is the contrast. I gave a two weeks notice on one job and am getting into alignment with what I really love and want to do; what makes my heart sing. Last night I found an Abe recording talking about getting into the vortex. Your post, as well as Tshombe, Annette and Adrienne’s responses remind me of this video. Thank you for you explaination. Here is the video link in case you would like to see it:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJch6BjVxjw&NR=1

  60. Annette Pedersen says:

Berta – that’s wonderful! I am so happy for you!
    Good ole Abe.
    And great Jeannette!
I would really like to hear about your journey from ‘Job Work’ (ick) to Life Work – YAY!!

  61. Nat Couropmitree says:

Adrienne – Thanks for spreading the love. BTW, I’ve started to love words too, ever since I started to see deeper into their derivations. I was thinking about the word ‘sorcerer’ the other day. Sorcerer -> someone who works with Source. Or the word ‘Resourceful’ -> Re full (or refill) with Source

Berta – I bet you’re not that far from inspired. Doing anything that makes you feel good is inspiration. Just deciding to feel good is inspiration too. Cuz when Spirit is flowing in you, you feel good. So giving 2-weeks notice probably felt good, yes? Congrats on following your heart 🙂 Also, I want to add that working hard is not necessarily a bad thing. If we truly enjoy – are having fun and are feeling good – while working hard then we’re still in the vortex. Working hard kicks us out of the vortex only when working hard feels like a chore or you feel you don’t have any other choice…

  62. Erik says:

    Hey Nat,
thanks for the big and much needed reminder to align our actions with the feel-good. This is no loa commonplace as some might think – it begs being repeatedly remembered each and every day.
“Each action must include you – your energy – your essence.” – this shines so much clarity and truth at the same time.

    XOXO to all 😉

  63. Ryan says:

this was an insanely blissful post, um, i’m glad i’m not the only one who gets inflamed with the spirit of the lord and waxes randomly exuberant

    r 🙂

  64. Jennifer says:

what i derived from this post, is that we can not be “split” in our decisions… body, mind, soul, spirit… all that we say, do, feel, think, accept (from other sources in our environment, etc…) have to be in line with whatever it is we wish for ourselves.

eliminate fear and doubt, decide on a set of beliefs (to the point where the “belief” becomes “solid fact” – a “knowing”); and refuse to entertain any outside source diminishing or interfering with your “big picture”… get into the fantasy and play it out until it becomes your reality… am i close, jeannette?
