Mr. Rogers & the Schoolyard Shooting
In the wake of yesterday’s news about the Connecticut schoolyard shooting, I’m finding Fred Rogers’ words very wise, comforting and also LOA savvy:
When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”
To this day, especially in times of “disaster,” I remember my mother’s words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.
Thank you, Mr. Rogers.
(It’s especially lovely if you can hear those words in his characteristically kind voice.)
Let’s collectively activate the vibrations of love, caring and support around this event and the people involved.
Big Love, everyone.

thank you for this… I really do miss Mr. Rogers, he made the world a little nicer.
Just beautiful. Simple and perfect. Thank you.
You know what I noticed, Robin? He still does, even now.
And Janette, it is that, isn’t it? Simple and helpful.
Thanks for posting, you two.
I love you Ms. Maw
Thank you for sharing this, Jeannette. Mr. Rogers truly was loving kindness personified, and hearing these words of his (I can hear him in my head and heart as I read) is like salve to my soul after yesterday’s news.
Love you, too, Leslie.
Brenda, I was thinking the same thing – Mr. Rogers is salve to a sore soul.
Jeannette – I just caught the last 20 minutes of “Meet The Press” where the talk was about this tragedy. At the end, the host said “I wanted to share some advice from an unlikely source, Mr Roberts” and they flashed his pic and shared the same words you just did.
Awesome.
Thanks Ms Maw,
xoxo
