What Pinterest Can Do For Deliberate Creators
Up until this week, I’d managed to ignore rave reviews about Pinterest, the virtual pinboard that lets you post your favorite things from the web.
The last thing I needed was another online distraction.
Turns out I almost missed a brilliant approach for successful manifestations!
Pinterest’s mission is to:
connect everyone in the world through the ‘things’ they find interesting. We think that a favorite book, toy, or recipe can reveal a common link between two people. With millions of new pins added every week, Pinterest is connecting people all over the world based on shared tastes and interests.
… which sounds appealing enough.
But when Coach Lisa Hayes told me that she uses Pinterest as a vision board (and encourages clients to do the same), I took notice!
Pinterest allows you to create and customize your own boards, on whatever themes light you up. You’ll find lots of style and decor boards, along with jewelry, hobbies, books, etc.
But for those of us who never get around to cutting and pasting images from magazines to a vision board at home, Pinterest may be just the answer!
For example, Lisa has a board called “My Very Cool Life” filled with gorgeous photos of the ocean, sailboats, the beach, and tropical palm trees.
(Coincidence that she recently became the proud owner of her own sailboat? Deliberate creators know better.)
I haven’t created my Pinterest vision board yet (although I’ve got a couple vibe-lifting boards organized), but I’ll be keeping my eyes open for photos, videos, and such that represent what I’m calling forth.
New users need an invite in order to begin posting, but you can request one from Pinterest directly (it might take a while to receive one), or from an existing user. (I think I’ve got a few invites to share.)
In the meantime, peruse these boards by your fellow deliberate creators:
- Jeanna Gabellini (love the title of her board: “Universe Will Arrange This 4 Me”)
- Lisa Hayes (check out her “My Very Cool Life” board)
- Louise Edington‘s well titled: Vision Board
- Laura Gevanter’s Dream Home
- Jackie Gaston (Places I’d Love To See)
- Tia Sparkles (Me & My Life – Vision Board)
If you’ve got a pinterest board you’d like to share, please share the link in comments!
And for those who want to learn more about how to use Pinterest, USAToday gives the lowdown here. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for the mention! I welcome anyone to connect with me on Pinterest. A vision board is the best use of the site in my opinion.
Lots of good vibes over there, Louise! Thanks for the example you set for fellow creators!
http://digitaldreamboard.com/ is another great online resource. I like this one because it allows you to arrange and resize the photos. Also, you can print it out when you have completed it.
Thanks for the hookup, Tanya!
Checking it out now …
I like this a lot – I want to try it! Anybody got a pinterest invite for me?
looks really good! I’m going to give this a try!
Hey Caelan, I have invites. Feel free to email me at tia at coachtia dot com and I’ll send you an invite!
Sending one now, Caelan.
Maria, glad you found some inspiration for it!
I just started hearing about this the other day. I requested an invite from them, but I’m already thinking about boards to create. There is so much cool stuff online. I love the Internet
There is an App too. I really enjoy Pinterest.
It makes me feel so good to collect the pictures
Funny, that is exactly what I’m using Pinterest for. I just wish they had an Android app, so I have a slideshow on my phone all day!!
Thank you! I’m on it! This is perfect and I can write myself a reminder to use it daily so that it becomes a habit – so fun! Thinking of all the things that I can ad to my board now.
Yes!! I just heard about this in our Good Vibe Coach Academy Call… and you guys were right… IT IS SOOOO COOOOOL!!!
EnjoyLife
This post has inspired me to start my vision binder. It’s going to be a binder with photoshopped images like a photoshopped check with my name on it, a college degree with my name on it, picture of me in my dream apartment etc. I always felt that regular vision board images were too vague and generic for me so I think personalizing it would work well for me but I never got around to doing it.
After I read this post and the comments I fired up photoshop and started working on it. I’m quite pleased with it so far. Thanks Jeannette!
I got my invite from Pinterest today! I’ll be setting up some boards this week.

In some ways Pinterest is a knock off of Polyvore. They aren’t exactly the same (Polyvore is essentially about fashion) but you can very easily create any kind of vision board you like there, using whatever images you choose. More importantly, you don’t need an invitation, and as far as I know there isn’t a waiting list. I’ve been using Polyvore for years.

This is a lot of fun – thanks Jeannette for telling about it and thank you Tia for the invite
