On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being “I work like a slave for it” and 10 as “I barely lift a finger”, how easy is your money?

If you’re like many of us, you grew up believing it’s a virtue to work hard for your reward; that money was scarce and difficult to come by, and you better be careful with whatever you get. And even to be grateful for the chance to sweat it out in a miserable job to earn it.

The thing is, that’s true. If that’s what you believe.

But it can be also be true that:

money is easy to come by

that the less you work the more you make

that the more you spend the more you have

that earning it can be a completely joyful and pleasant experience

or that you don’t even have to “work” for it at all

If that sounds foreign, but something you’d like to embrace, that’s what we’re doing this May.

I’m taking a group of creators up the scale towards experiencing even easier money. If you answered less than an 8 on the ten point scale, and are keen to create a different experience with money, you’re invited to join in for a month long Easy Money course starting May 14th at 4 pm eastern.

Seats are $97 each, and include access to the GVU forums for the duration of the course. Calls will be recorded if you can’t join in live, and access to the forums allows you to experience the power of group support even if you’re not dialed in for calls.

If you’d like to join to create Easy Money for yourself, reserve your seat by making payment of $97 below.

After sending payment, I’ll send an email with call-in details and forum access instructions.

And if you want to prime your pump right now for an easier time with money, these resources may help now:

Marc Allen on how he affirmed his way to “total financial success in an easy & relaxed manner.”
Abraham reminder on creating money without action.
Bashar on winning the lottery.

Great stuff there! And very much in alignment with what we’ll be practicing in Easy Money next month. See you then!

PS – current GVU members get free seats to this course. So if you’re already a member, no need to register. And if you’d like to become one now, you can do that here.

An astute question came in from a new reader here that I thought you all could help answer:

I’ve read your suggestion that to manifest what you want, you should “feel now how you would feel then.”

That makes sense, but I don’t know how to feel something I’ve never experienced. Specifically, I want to create my financial wealth, but that’s not something I’ve ever known. All I’ve ever known is struggle and lack. (Unfortunately, that is not an exaggeration.)

So while I understand it’s important to feel financially abundant now, I don’t have a clue what that would be like. Does that mean I won’t be able to create it? What do you suggest I do?

It’s been a while since we’ve covered this, so I thought it due for a revisit.

Plus, people ask questions like this on a variety of manifesting subjects – whether it’s enjoying being a parent, thriving in a happy relationship, landing professional success, etc.

What do you guys recommend to someone who might be manifesting something they’re completely unfamiliar with? (Specifically money?) How do you vibrate something that might be a brand new frequency for you? Or is it really even that important?

Thank you in advance for sharing your favorite tips, wisdom and insights with our friend.

I know lots of deliberate creators who are manifesting wealth, and maybe some of us already feel it – but what exactly is it to be “rich”?

Sarah Yost posted today about offering coaching to more than just the 1%. Which inspired me to pinpoint just who these 1% are everyone’s talking about.

Sure enough, it turns out I coach mostly 99 percenters. (The Washington Post defined the 1% as American households earning over $516,633.)

Last week Money Coach Christy Lambert led a brilliant call for Good Vibe U about aligning with being rich. It turns out “rich” isn’t what most of us think, at least according to how Thomas Stanley defines it in Stop Acting Rich: And Start Living Like a Real Millionaire. He defines rich as someone with a net worth over one million dollars.

And those millionaires don’t behave nearly the way you might have thought! They tend to live in homes valued under $300,000; they drive Toyotas and Fords; they shop at JCPenney and Kohls.

That’s not how I imagined people with a lot of money living. Which led me to wonder about what I think of as “rich.” And to wonder what it looks like to those of you manifesting financial abundance. How will you know when you’re there?

According to Global Rich List, I’m in the top 1% of rich people in the world. (I bet you’re way up there, too.) Robert Frank thought that Rich-O-Meter measure is more helpful when we look at just US income rather than global income.

But still, something doesn’t feel quite right to me about this definition.

While I’m reading all these numeric measures defining what it is to be rich, I can’t help but think of my Maui tour guide Butch from earlier this month. (Yes, Laura Gev, I’m milking it!)

Butch is a 22 year retired Army veteran from Arkansas, who arrived in Maui four years ago to visit friends. He never left.

And Butch doesn’t seem to make much money. I’m guessing he’s not a one percenter, anyway. A drunk tourist ran over his scooter, so he has no car. He showed us where he lives in Maui’s “ghetto.” (Could paradise really have a ghetto?)

Despite all that, I suspect Butch is one of the richest people I know!

I mean, he lives in paradise; he has interesting friends; he sees whales regularly and hangs out on beaches and is healthy and relaxed and enjoying life.

If that’s not rich, I don’t know what is!

So maybe google can’t define rich for me. Nor can Thomas Stanley. And maybe what I’m talking about is more “happiness” than “rich.”

Maybe for me happiness is worth focusing on more than financial measures.

In fact, Seth Godin suggests staying “blind to the metrics that don’t matter.” I agree with that, and yet notice I still have specific income goals every year. Studies say it’s easier to be happy if you have at least some money.

But Butch seems to be doing pretty well for himself. !!

I’d love to hear from fellow creators how YOU define rich and are manifesting wealth. Do you have income goals for 2012? What does it mean to you to be rich, exactly? And how do you measure that?

(Unless you’re this guy.)

In working with lots of deliberate creators to attract money using the law of attraction, here’s what I’ve found works best:

1. Drop the need.
Need and abundance don’t go together. So if you have to pick one of those vibrations, it’s obvious which one to go with, right? Find a way to release that needy energy. Tips on letting go are here.

2. Make peace with the present.
Resisting your current state of affairs only perpetuates them. (This goes hand in hand with #1.) However you do it, find a way to get okay with how things are now. Resistance serves as a powerful dam holding up tremendous wealth. Dropping that resistance bursts the dam, flooding you with money.

3. Skip the middle man.
Give yourself the gift of whatever you think having money will do for you. You think it will bring peace of mind? Happiness? Relief? Fun? Access those states now. Three deep breaths ushers in peace. Playing with the dog enhances joy. Don’t make money responsible for making you feel better. Feel better now, just because you choose so. (That’s a party money loves to show up at!)

4. Act as if.
You don’t have to actually have money in order to vibrate it. Since we get what we vibrate, when you send the signal to Universe that you’ve got money, guess what it has to send? Money! Here’s how Mike Dooley did it: when he’d get a big bill in the mail, instead of fretting or despairing, he’d say, “Oooh, it’s a good thing I’m rich.” When he wasn’t. Yet. (And it worked!)

5. Engage relationship counseling.
Improve your relationship with money by paying attention how you treat it. Do you speak to it kindly? Think of it appreciatively? Make improvements in that relationship, and it’ll love you back.

6. Be good to yourself.
Since Universe is taking its cue from you, when you treat yourself well, it’ll do the same. And money is often part of how it does that. If you need help with self-love, I’ve got you covered with an ebook devoted to that topic.

7. Use a money manifesting technique.
Call it in, sing it in, chant it in, journal it in, visualize it. Each of those are clickable for ideas. (That “call it in” link is the hilarious Reverend Ike Calling In Money. If you want someone to literally sing along with, Lady Gaga likes money, too.)

8. Watch your language!
Tell a better money story. Are you talking about it like there isn’t enough? Are you speaking about it like you need more? As long as you tell that version, that’s how it has to be! Improve your story and money will follow suit. Even “it’s not as bad as I’m making it out to be,” “it’ll be ok,” “everything works out,” “I don’t have to figure this out right now” type stories can start a good shift.

9. Appreciate the money you have now.
Abraham says the best way to get money is to appreciate the money you already have. And if you don’t have any money now, appreciate whatever else you have. Or the money you see around you. Or the money you’ve had before. Bottom line – give thanks for money where you can! When Universe gets that signal from you, it’ll send more.

10. Forget about it.
When your financial panties are in a twist, sometimes the best thing to do is get off the topic altogether. Give it up. Walk away and let things work out while you’re mowing the lawn or taking a nap. If you consistently come to this topic with a negative vibration, and aren’t having any luck upgrading your vibe (which is really easy to do when you think you’ve good reason to worry) – the best thing you can do might be NOTHING! Let it go. Find something else (enjoyable) to occupy your mind and don’t be surprised if things take a swift turn for the better once you really truly drop the subject.

Some of my favorite reminders for how to manifest money are these clips from Abraham and this article from Steve Pavlina. (And of course, my Manifesting Money ebook.)

Here’s one that many folks report fabulous results with.

This money manifesting method is even more successful when you approach it with a light, easy, carefree attitude, so be sure to have fun with it!

(Speaking of light & easy, get more tips on this topic at top 10 ways to manifest money.)

Without further ado, here is the money chant (aka abundance mantra):

Years ago Yoga Journal had a short column on it, which is still taped to my filing cabinet. It’s a mantra designed to allow more abundance into your world.

Whether it’s more health, wealth, or happiness, you can chant this mantra to the goddess Lakshmi, the Hindu embodiment of good fortune, prosperity, and beauty – 108 times every day for 40 days.

Thomas Ashley-Farrand said he’s heard many amazing success stories of how people’s situations have improved by invoking Lakshmi. Sometimes the mantra allows just a small stream of abundance to trickle into relationships, health or finances. But other times a flood of good fortune comes very quickly.

Chant the mantra and see what happens. Here it is:

Om shrim maha lakshmiyei swaha

Phonetically it’s: Om shreem mah-hah lahk-shmee-yay swah-hah

And it means: “Om and salutations to she who manifests every kind of abundance.”

Here’s a slightly strange yet still helpful YouTube video to help with the pronunciation (this one includes “gum” for removing obstacles).

And here is the money chant by Martha Lopez. (From her site, click on free downloads and then the Lakshmi Mantra. It’s 54 repetitions after 9 oms.)

I don’t know why it works, but it sure seems to. Even before you get to day 40. Some people just chant it for 10 minutes rather than count out 108 – but I suspect those in the know would tell you that there’s significance to 108 repetitions.

You may also considering combining this technique with the pray rain journaling process for extra money magic, or dive into my favorite resource for creating financial abundance: Money Mojo Magic!

Have fun with it if you feel inspired to play with it. And if you’ve got positive experiences to share about this mantra, we’d love to hear them!
