How often do you hear words like these:

“We’ll see.”

“I’ll try.”

“Hopefully …”

“I don’t know how.”

“I can’t figure out …”

Not the words of a master manifester, right?

This is where I’d like to say I picked these phrases from client conversations in order to highlight what NOT to say as a powerful creator.

But the truth is these words came from my own mouth!

In fact, I can hardly believe … I just did it again! While typing this very post I popped over to read emails; saw that my new virtual assistant resent a note I hadn’t responded to yet. So I replied back saying thanks for the resend, and that I’m HOPING to get my inbox under control later today.

What the @$&*%?!

I know so much better than to hope or try for anything, and yet there I was speaking it. (Or typing it, anyway.)

If I didn’t know better I might think I was insane to use weak speech that doesn’t reflect (or empower) my reality-creating abilities. But, it’s not insanity – just habit.

While my language is much stronger now than years ago, obviously there’s still room for improvement.

I share this because I’m pretty sure I’m not alone.

Okay, now it’s getting ridiculous! (Just saw a blog comment from Tia asking me to locate a lengthy comment she submitted but didn’t see post. I couldn’t find it and tweeted her this: “nothing in my spam folder yet . but maybe it’ll take a second to show up? I hope!” Argh!)

This is clearly time to regroup and realize resistance to wimpy words – in fact, resistance to ANYTHING – doesn’t eliminate it. It just encourages more of it.

With this awareness, I’ll give up my battle against wimpy words like hope and try and can’t, and remember how good I am at speaking powerfully. Remember how well I use language that reflects and enhances my powerful abilities to create whatever I want.

Relief already!

I’m tempted to change the title of this post at the same time.

Regardless of what I do, I know it’ll be perfect.

hee hee

That’s more like it!

I KNOW.

I INTEND.

I WILL.

I CAN.

I AM.

Okay, I’m on a sweet little roll now! Let’s keep this one going!

I’d love to hear your most effective ways for spotting your own limiting language, and how you turn it around! Game?

Clients of Martha Beck’s learn very quickly what not to say in her presence. Any version of the words “I can’t” sends her off.

I admire her commitment to not letting people get away with saying they are powerless. (She’s screamed in my ear before!)

I’ve also come to realize I’ve got a couple phrases that send me off, too.

One that’s come up these last couple weeks is: “We’ll see what happens.”

When a “normal” person says it, I get it. They don’t know better. And it’s not my job to clue them in, so I let it slide.

But when a CLIENT says it, I could go through the roof!

We’ll SEE what happens?! We’ll see if things turn out?

Have I taught you NOTHING?

That’s not how it works!

Rather, we SAY what happens. We’re the ones in charge here!

We don’t have to sit back and see what destiny sends our way … we CHOOSE it. And we choose what happens through our speech, our thoughts, our feelings, and our actions.

My clients’ words “We’ll see what happens” feel like Martha Beck’s equivalent to “I can’t.” It’s a phrase that renders us powerless. We know so much more than that!

We’ll see if traffic cooperates to get us to our appointment on time?

We’ll see if this new restaurant is any good?

We’ll see if we get the job offer?

We’ll see if the paycheck makes it to the end of the month?

We’ll see if things turn out in our favor? Maybe you will, but I guarantee I’m not going to sit back and see whether things turn out … I’m saying it. After all, you know the power of our words. (Click on the colors if you want a reminder.)

How do you think Universe (or Source or whatever you call your higher power) responds to the vibration of the “we’ll see” phrase? It feels passive to me.

But when we SAY what’s going to happen, doesn’t it feel much more powerful and authoritative? Like you’re giving the Universe some real direction by flexing your creative muscle?

With this post I invite you to notice where you’re holding your power in check by “seeing what happens” and rather to choose to “say what happens.” It’s your true deliberate creator nature, you know!

(And my homework, in the meantime, is to take the charge off hearing this phrase so I can stop coming across it so much! ha)

“Why not me?”

That’s the question I happened to hear in two different client sessions this week.

One client asked it with an air of hope and optimism; the other with a sense of despair and frustration.

It struck me how the same words, the same question, had such different vibrations associated with it.

Why not ME??

Why NOT me?

hee hee – I love how this deliberate creation work calls for a willing awareness of the energy flowing amidst all these words.

The “why not ME??” client was focused on how things seemed to be happening for others but not for her. She felt overlooked and falling behind. (Until we refocused, of course, which she quickly engaged.)

The “why NOT me?” client could see lots of reasons why things should be and could be coming together for him. He could have been singing the “future’s so bright, I have to wear shades” song. His energy felt like it was a no-brainer that success would find him.

So my question to you:

How does your question feel? Are your words encouraging an empowering feeling within? Or a limiting one? Are they positive, or are you headed for trouble with them?

Pay attention .. and celebrate your ability to fine tune your way through this manifesting process.

Fun stuff, huh?!
