Birthday Present for You

cake.jpgIt’s official. I’m 39.
I’ve been thinking of myself as 39 for long enough that I feel like I’m finally catching up with myself.
My birthday present to myself this year is the best shape I’ve ever been in. By the time I am officially 40, I will feel and look better than I ever have before. That’s a promise.
I can feel my commitment to this in a way that makes me know it will absolutely come to pass. No ifs, ands or big butts. : )
It’s different than wanting it, different than flirting with the idea. I’m claiming it. I own this one now. I’m enjoying it already! Can you tell?
My birthday present to YOU is my seven day e-course I’ve been threatening to launch for several weeks now. It’s not perfect, but it never will be, and I refuse to let that stop me any longer. Enjoy! (You can subscribe to it using the signup box in the top left hand column.)
Abraham said something recently that inspired me to change my thoughts about aging. They said aging is inevitable, since we experience the passing of time. But decline with aging is NOT inevitable.
So I’m now on board with embracing my real age, and having new meanings about what that number means. I’m not resisting 39 or any other number again. Instead, I’m creating what that age means.
All right – I’m off to set some other additional intentions for my new year, and invite any of you who have birthdays this month to share yours as well!

  • Holy hannah, Noelle! This is a fabulous vibe-raising post! Thank you so much for it … I’ll be referring back when I need to borrow this wonderful vibe for myself. 🙂
I especially like the “sooo EASY” part! And the extra inch!!
Thank you for posting, Noelle! (And congrats!)

  • Noelle says:

    Hi Jeannette,
Get your newletter and just came across this post. Happy Belated Birthday! And I felt compelled to give you some “evidence” for your committment to looking and feeling better than ever!
I am now 42 and I DO look and feel better than I EVER have in my life! I also listen to Abe all the time, and I “got” that I don’t have to decline too! So, a couple of years ago I decided I don’t “have to age” and that I would get better and better looking and feeling, and I HAVE!
I’ve never been over weight, but now my body has sort of “morphed”(and it’s always been pretty good but hasn’t changed in years!) to very strong, lean and athletic looking(my ideal) with very little(like 3-4 x of 30-45min a week) exercise (home video sessions of ballet/yoga/pilates) every week! And… I eat and drink whatever and whenever I want! And… I have more energy, more stamina, more flexibility, more agility than ever! Also…..I get more looks, more compliments, and…. people telling me I look better than ever now! It’s pretty cool, and THE thing I go to in my mind when I want to “raise my vibe”!
And the thing is that it was sooo EASY! Really…and honestly, the reason I started working out more was just for “mental health”, I was fine with my body! I took all the “goal parts” out of it, and worked out just to feel better! And then one day I put my jeans on, and they were REALLY loose, so then I looked “closely” in the mirror and was pretty amazed at how “chiseled” I looked! I really hadn’t “looked” in quite a while!
Oh, one more thing, I hadn’t been to a Dr. in probably 10 years(got health pretty much handled too:) and had to get a physical. Well, I “grew” an inch! And because I was so blown away by this, the nurse measured me twice! How, you might ask? Well, my thought is that the pilates/ballet/yoga stretched my spine and body(was a bit swaybacked, but no more!) and I’ve always desired to be taller(was 5’1 1/2 and now am 5’2 1/2)…..which the Universe “remembered”, lol!
So, when I came across this post, I just thought I would give this “gift” of evidence to you, cause I LOVE to hear about other people accomplishing things I want to, and I thought you might too! Gives me a thrill and a knowing that “if they could, then it is possible, and I can too”! Especially when it is something that 99.9% of the world doesn’t believe is possible or even probable, lol!
    All the Best,

Well, Kim, that’s about as nice a birthday wish as a girl can get! Thank you!

And thanks for setting such a strong example as to what’s possible when we harness the power of our mind.

(Is it harness, or set free?)

    Either way, nicely done, girlfriend!

It means so much to know these words make a difference in your lives. It’s honestly the best gift I could ever receive.

    Thank you!!!

Yay for 35, Nikki!! And thanks for the encouraging words, my friend – that’s the best present I could get!!

John, thanks for the great visual of people gaping when they hear my true age in 20 years. ha! That’s the best!

  • Peregrine John says:

Happy birthday, Jeannette! Good on you for embracing your chronological age, and even more for starting the physical lack of aging you’re about to inspire us all with! May they diverge until, at 59, people gape and say, “Surely you’re not over 29?”

  • Nikki says:

Happiest of Happy Birthdays to you, Jeannette!

I so love your writing. Every time my sister and I talk we say, “Did you read Jeannette’s blog?” Fabulous stuff. Sure hope your bloggy goodness is on your new year list!

PS – My birthday was Sept. 1, and this year, turning 35 just felt RIGHT. That was nice for a change!
