Is It Working?

does your law of attraction process work?If this is a question you ask about your manifesting exercise or LOA routine, then it probably isn’t.

Because if you’re scripting or visualizing or “acting as if” in order to get what you want so you’ll be happier, you’ve missed the point of deliberate creation.

(And many of us do.)

Deliberate creation is about feeling now how you would feel then.Β  It’s about managing your energetic frequency by feeling better now.Β  Not waiting for the thing to manifest before you get happy.

So the measure of whether your manifesting process is effective is whether you feel better for engaging it.

That’s the measure that counts.

If it makes you feel better, it works.

Don’t wait for the weight to drop or the money to appear or the boyfriend to propose before you declare it a success.

It is, however, a sure thing that as you feel better now, more good stuff happens. That other stuff is a side benefit, though, not the main purpose.

If you need the stuff to happen before you declare your manifesting routine effective, you are doing life the way everyone else does. Depending on circumstances for how you feel.

That’s not deliberate creation.

(I’m reminding myself this as I play with a new process this month. I found myself thinking, “Sure, I feel great, but is it working?” D’oh!)

I have a house viewer tomorrow and I’m not in the least stressed about it. In fact I am leaving it all up to the powers that be. Thank you Jeannette for all you tips, I am now concentrating on your 3 tips I received this morning in manifesting what I want. But this morning the sun is shining, the temperatures are going up and I’m feeling good. We keep you all informed of the outcome. Thanks everyone for your support and good vibes

  • My pleasure, Joyce. You are doing a great job. You are closer than you think! πŸ™‚

  • Joyce says:

Thank you Matthew for your inspiration. I have now started to change my attitude to my everyday life after reading Jeannette’s comment. I started reading ‘The Secret’ again and am starting to realize that I should be more thankful for what I have right here and now. As Jeannette said I need to relax more, with regards to selling my house. I telephoned my mum yesterday in Ireland, as it was her 87th birthday, and I have kept a picture of her in my mind ever since. I see myself going to her and giving her a big hug, sitting with her, holding her hand and loving it. When I got up this morning, I said thank you for my lovely comfortable bed, my husband and my two beautiful dogs. Sometimes I believe my two dogs are little angels, especially my King charles cavalier, he is so compassionate towards me. I have actually started singing in the kitchen while I am cooking. So now things really don’t seem so stressed, and I also know its because of my thinking. So once again, thank so much for your words its really helps
and I come back and read your words over and over again. I will keep you up-dated.

  • I want to tell you, Joyce, just how much I love where you have inspired this conversation! Great comments from Jeannette and all! Yes, if I were you I would say to myself and out loud a few times, everyday for awhile if it feels good and then just let it be for a while:
“Universal Manager(or whatever name you like to use, God, Source, The Absolute, etc.) I am giving up on selling the house. I am leaving that up to you, I am putting this wholly in your hands, I trust you, I have faith in you and myself. I am going to focus on where I want to be and who I want to be with and the love I have for my family(and then actually do this, think on them send them BIG LOVE straight from your heart). I understand that my job is to get in alignment with what I want, to see it before it comes, to feel it as if I already have it. To allow it come in to my life, through your divine grace(I am just making up words that feel good to me in this moment, just substitute whatever you like that feels good and is aligned with how you speak, pray, affirm, etc.) I am grateful, I am thankful for all the blessings you bestow upon me everyday. I know I am close to my family now. I know they feel me coming to them. I see myself easily getting the opportunity to see them to be with them to live with them(once again whatever works for you). Thank you. I know it is done.”
Joyce, I would lovingly and compassionately watch the words that you are using. When you say: “I know it won’t be easy.” as you did above, what do you think you are attracting into your life, in that moment? Unease, right? I am guessing you DO want ease. How about being the powerful divine creator that you know on some level you are and saying instead:
“It would be so nice if this process was easy, oh wow, if this was easy it would just be so great. ”
You typed above: “I also read the book β€˜The Secret’ which obviously didn’t help.”
Are you sure about that? Maybe it did help but you just havent SEEN the results yet…maybe it is incubating in you now, maybe its closer than you think, maybe The Secret is just what you needed and if you read it again you will see the one key point that could change your life for the better forever. Maybe you can watch the movie also and compound some of that info into your mind, and your heart, and begin to BELIEVE. I highly suggest What the Bleep do we Know movie as well!!
As for the question how do I send a signal of contentment, joy, etc. when I am not feeling that…first of all CONGRATS! The fact that you asked that question shows you are a FABULOUS deliberate creator in the making! SO WOOHOO for YOU! πŸ™‚ really great stuff from Jeannette.
Here is a take I often use with my clients: START SMALL, START SIMPLE
alot of small equals to REALLY BIG! So find a photo of your family, or a beautiful sunrise, or even better get up early and watch one from a beautiful place and focus on whatever relief, contentment, laughter, happiness, joy you can find in anything you are doing all day. That little bit starts the spark of the signal, that signal lights the fire, you build momentum, and as you do you are spiraling up the emotional scale to all your happy places. Roll around in that. Focus on it. Milk it for everything its worth! As much as you can, everyday. Sometimes when I am having a tough day, I have to go really small, and I am just grateful for my breath. I watch it move in and out of my body and I focus on its life giving qualities. I focus on the fact that I can walk, speak, laugh, cry, eat, type, etc. This simple focus works wonders for my life and in my life. I have doubt you can do this, in fact I would bet you are doing this right now. I see you with your family, happy, content and at ease. I am sure other people on this post see that as well. We see your house sold, for a great price, with a smooth transaction….I look forward to hearing all about it! πŸ™‚

  • I’m glad we’re having this exchange, Joyce. I think it’ll be helpful to others as well!
Yes, so how to feel happy when you’re not?
First of all, happy might be too big a reach sometimes. Sometimes it’s just better to look for RELIEF than full on joy.
Here’s where I find relief even while my greatest desire is NOT here (yet):
well, it’s happening right now listening to … oh, who IS this? .. it’s a country artist, drink a little drink, smoke a little smoke. A little more right, and a little less left. A little more right now, a little less what’s next. Act like tomorrow’s 10 years away, just kick back and let the feeling flow …
I LOVE that song! It’s probably about being under the influence, but I can actually hear it in a way that is very much in alignment with my values.
    Good music! JOY!!!
And I was just shooting for relief! hee hee
Then there’s kitty cat Luna over in the sunshine on the rug, playing with a leaf from the plant. I sure like that cat. She’s the one cat that the dogs can’t push around. Not because she’s mean, just because she’s indifferent. She’s not intimated by them. And there she is lounging right by my dog Joe. So sweet.
There’s a smile in that for me, as I look at that scene.
    That’s how easy it is.
There are things right now under our very noses that are delicious and joyful and easy to appreciate.
Now it’s KT Tunstall’s Black Horse song – love that song, too! Have you seen her video of how she played that song by herself? It’s really cool. So creative and independent! (Love both those qualities.)
Right under our noses, joy is. πŸ™‚
And that’s the signal Universe is getting from me now … “Jeannette is happy – she is loving her life! What can we send that will also make her happy and make her love life even more?”
And as long as I don’t go back to “but it’s not here yet” I am an open door for more good stuff!
    I LOVE how this works!!!!

  • Joyce says:

yes, I do understand what you are saying, I also read the book ‘The Secret’ which obviously didn’t help. What I’m trying to understand is, how can I send a signal of contentment, happiness & joy when I’m not feeling that.

  • I know what you mean, Joyce.
And it is what makes all the difference, because Universe can only give us what we’re sending. So when I send the vibration of dissatisfaction, it has to match it. Not until I shift it up by sending the signal of contentment, happiness, joy, even relief – can Universe send in the goods.
It is a pretty cool system once we learn to work with it. πŸ™‚

  • Joyce says:

Thank you for your reply and your advice, it won’t be easy, but I will try and relax and concentrate on joy in my daily life. I will keep you informed of my progress. Thank you once again.

  • Nice response from Matt, as usual!
If it were me, Joyce, I would start by relaxing about it. I know the more I want something, the more tension I create around it, and that’s not the kind of allowing energy that lets it happen quickly and easily.
So I’d relax, I’d focus on reasons to be happy now, I’d let this desire loose (meaning, maybe not full on letting go, but holding it much more lightly), and I’d purposely engage more joy in my daily life.
It’ll all take of itself when you get lighter and happier with it. (Which is the same advice I gave myself this morning on one of my own goals.)

  • Joyce says:

Thank you for replying Matthew, your comment was very interesting. You were right in saying I want to be with my family the most, regardless to selling my house or not. For the past year I have been so focused on living in Ireland with my family, but in order to do that I need to sell my house in France. So my focus has also been to sell my house. Maybe that’s were I am going wrong, do you think I should only be focusing on living in Ireland and leave the selling of the house to the powers that be? I even go onto the property website in ireland every day and look at my house (the one I would buy, if I could). I thought I would come here to see if someone could guide me a bit, so thank you so much for your encouragement.

  • I am interested in hearing from Jeannette and others on this one, great question! For me the first thing that popped up as I read your comment was: “Should”
Often I use the word ‘should’ and tell myself its no big deal, etc, etc. However, whenever I have dug deeper, really gotten into the vortex, and looked back at when I used the word ‘should’ I have found that there is some belief that is definitely not serving me. So, first if I were you I would take a loving look at that opportunity! πŸ™‚
Next, I would move to the simple but amazingly powerful question: “Which do you want most?” Seems clear you want both, however, which will bring you the greatest joy? If I put myself in your shoes and I were missing my family, I would be SO focused on that aspect, because I know that would make me feel the best, and I would know that regardless of selling the house, the universe is rearranging itself for me right now, I am in my vortex, I love my family, I see myself with them laughing, playing, hugging, crying with joy, eating meals, going to the park to the beach, whatever is the most joyful experiences that you have had with them or that you have wanted to have with them. I would remind myself that I create my life, no one but me. If I am aligned with what I want, it will come. As a matter of fact its coming right now, wow, it could happen tomorrow, next week, in teh next hour, my next email or phone call could be the one, and then I would get chills and close my eyes and just allow those powerful and beautiful thoughts and feelings wash over my soul….
And before you know it, WALLAH! Home in Ireland with my family, and loving every moment of it!

  • Joyce says:

So i have been trying to sell my house in France for a year now. I miss my family and want to move back to Ireland. Should I visualise selling my house, or visualise living in Ireland with my family?

  • Thank you, Jeane! πŸ™‚

  • Jeane says:

Congratulations! You have been chosen for the Versatile Blogger Award for 2012 by

  • How Cool! Congrats! πŸ™‚

  • I’d say ESPECIALLY then, Steve.
    Especially then.
Because their thoughts are things that can influence us if we’re not grounded in the energy we prefer to flow.

  • Steve says:

I wonder how the thoughts and feelings of those close to us influences us? Their thoughts are vibrational energy. It could be low energy. When we are near someone that is experiencing fear or stress we should still be selecting the thoughts that create the best feeling we can?

  • Yeah, the posts that sound a little lecture-y (rather than filled with compassion) are usually written for myself, Gorgeousophie. lol
But I’m glad others can find some value in it as well. πŸ™‚

  • GorgeouSophie says:

I love it when you share a ‘doh’ moment, nice reminder, thank you Jeannette!

  • Baker, I’ve been toying with the idea of a post on the relationship between thoughts and feelings. You know how Gregg Braden says it’s all about the heart energy, and what we’re feeling. And Mike Dooley always tells us to get lots of feeling in our visualizations to make them more powerful.
I think the feeling IS what makes the difference, but it is intimately connected (originates from) the thought.
Thanks for helping me think about that more – new post coming up soon! πŸ™‚

  • Baker says:

Nice reminder. Yes, it is more of a feeling than anything else that really means its “working” great article! We attract more through feeling more than actual thought, as the feeling is what creates the energy frequency that attracts things we want.

  • Thanks for reading and for commenting, Jennifer!

  • jennifer says:

‘is it working?’… doesn’t matter; because, I am the success πŸ™‚ great post, jeannette!!! definately a ‘keeper’ πŸ™‚

  • Right, Reeya. If I’m dependent on results in order to feel better – that is NOT deliberate creation. And law of attraction can never really deliver me the goods, because I’m waiting for the goods to get here before I feel better.
That’s a cycle that doesn’t lead to the happiest most fulfilling life.
I have to lead the way by feeling better FIRST. In that, then LOA/Universe follows my lead and delivers the goods.

  • Reeya says:

Perfect reminder…Its not about needing to win the lottery to pay off all these bills because ONLY then…will things be right..but that it’s okay that these bills are here..SO WHAT!
Pay off what you can, when you can and accept the way things are.
It’s okay to think…wouldn’t it be nice…when writing those checks…but only if you can laugh about it because it’s not…or at least not get lost in the moment of sorrow.
Did I get it right? I’m still trying to work on this….lol!

  • I’ll second THAT, Jody! πŸ™‚

  • Jody Low-A-Chee says:

I needed that reminder too! Thanks for that. Your post was yet another synchronicity for me. It’s all good. Actually, it’s all great!

  • I definitely benefit from a reminder, Milos.
(And am practicing loving that about me instead of being frustrated by it.) ha ha!

  • Milos says:

Thanks for the remainder. We surely forget quickly that we have to vibrate well now and not wait for something nice to happen.

  • Kimberly, Keep the Tail Wagging says:

This reminds me of something you wrote back when I first discovered your blog. If it becomes work, then it doesn’t work.
I’ve applied that to manifesting and to my day to day life. When what I’m doing becomes a chore that I dread, then I know it’s time to either stop, or take a step back and shake things up so that I’m in a better vibing place.
    Great post, as always!

  • That is a simple and effective reminder, isn’t it, Kimberly? My ex said that to me (he inspired the post) and I remember those words often myself.
And you’re right – often all we need is a little break to reset the vibe.
Thanks for posting, Kimberly and Matt! πŸ™‚

  • As always, great post. Its always working, right? LOA that is. πŸ™‚ So, whether we feeling ‘poopy'(can you tell I have an 8 week old?!) or ‘all good’ it always leads to more of whatever we are ‘asking’ for in those moments. Yet, we also have contrast to create the desire for more. It really is like a dance of sorts an ebb and flow, an always changing infinite menagerie of choices. Some choices take us up the emotional scale, some take us down, ultimately they all take us where we are going to go, as Abe says, “Don’t worry it will get bigger!” πŸ™‚ So, its always working, All Good.

  • Ashley, I think your good vibe is contagious! Thanks for chiming in on this one!

  • Ashley says:

It’s a snowball effect. Being in a state of joy and happiness brings even more of the same until you could just burst. Just writing about it brings the vibe up. Lots of good gifties come your way and part of the fun is tracing how everything is pieced together, A happened before B and B came in a very unexpected way that led to C, which was very cool by itself – so fun!

  • Nice reminder, Steve. It is that simple, isn’t it?
MissyB, thanks for reading and for posting! πŸ™‚

  • Steve says:

I like what Dr. Wayne Dyer says, “There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way”.

  • MissyB says:

Thanks for the reminder – feeling good IS what it’s all about.
