A fellow coach told us about one of her clients who was in a financial crunch who set the intention “I create wealth” every morning for several days.
After that, she found out her holiday bonus was coming to her a month early – and her ex-husband called to say there’d been a mix up in the divorce dispersal, and he owed her money.
All told, she gained thousands of unexpected dollars.
So I decided to try this for myself when I got a new laptop this summer.
I thought if I made “I create wealth” the password to unlock my keyboard, I would by default think the thought every morning.
Except I put a bunch of numbers and symbols in it.
Four months of using it, and nothing happened.
Business tanking. Few to no clients. Despair. (Or at least lots of lizard fear.)
Then I got an idea to re-frame my practice. (I had been doing work that was sort of gratifying but not even a little bit joyful for me.) I decided to use my 30 years of writing/editing experience to shift to coaching others to find their authentic voice, tell their stories compellingly, and find the joy in writing.
At the same time, I realized I had this password in code – and that I wasn’t actually even thinking the thought, let alone saying it.
So I began saying “I create wealth” out loud every day.
Within a week, I had $5,000 of new business.
Woo hoo for Maggie! I love that story. 🙂
If you don’t already use a wealth affirmation and would like more financial abundance, Maggie’s example is an inspiring reason to pick one up.
I suspect her new focus in leaving work she didn’t love was also instrumental in letting money in. Which is no surprise! That’s what happens when we start affirming a new reality for ourselves – we get new ideas and inspirations that (when we act on them) help make that affirmation true.
Lots of great tips to pick up from her story! Thanks for sharing it with us, Maggie.
If you’ve got a wealth affirmation you enjoy using, please share it with us! I’ll include my latest money mantra in the comments, too …
PS – if you’re looking for a more time-tested and traditional money mantra, that’s over here.
“Oh my word, what a jerk!!”
“I cannot believe what a Jerk he is!”
These are not the sort of thoughts I am proud to have invested in.
And yet, there I was flowing them with full force and emotion for weeks on end. (Toward someone that I love, even!)
It wasn’t until I had thought it for approximately the 820th time (I was going to guess 200, but I think negative thoughts might be like calories – we tend to underestimate just how many there really are) –
– before it dawned on me just how familiar this “what a jerk” thought had become.
I mean, I knew this thought inside and out. (In LOA world, we call that “acclimation.”)
This thought and I had become intimate friends. I had spent much time with it, turning it around this way and that; looking at its jerkiness from every angle, telling everyone who would listen all about it, feeling the emotion of it over and over until it found a permanent place in my frequency field of a heart.
And that’s how I created a near and dear family member to be a jerk.
This was not conscious creation – but that doesn’t make it any less powerful.
I know from all the facebook posts railing against Monsanto, Rush Limbaugh, the computer shooting father, etc. that I am not alone in activating this thought.
Obviously we can do better. We can use our creative power for good.
But if you ever wondered why your “I am healthy, wealthy and happy” type affirmations don’t seem to work as well, consider whether you invested in them as well as I did with my jerk mantra. I was committed, it was frequent, and I was emotional with those thoughts.
Universe can’t ignore that stuff for long. It gets moved to the top of the Big U’s list when it gets that much energy and attention from us.
(I really didn’t mean to work my jerk mantra so well.)
There’s solace for me in two things:
Which makes me super excited to choose a new thought to invest in starting today. What will it be?! Maybe …
or perhaps …
I cannot believe how much love there is my world. Everywhere I turn, there’s MORE LOVE! It’s amazing how much love is flowing to me and through me – can you believe this?! It is so cool to be me! It just gets better and better!
this might be fun, too:
How about you?
What thoughts have you been investing in lately? Are you doing it consciously, or just letting like attract like until you manifest something you don’t even want?
My note to self: leave the jerk mantra for others to play with, and engage something much more rewarding.
When we do that, there’s no doubt this spring season is going to rock!
Here’s one that many folks report fabulous results with.
This money manifesting method is even more successful when you approach it with a light, easy, carefree attitude, so have fun with it!
This money mantra is designed to allow more abundance into your world.
Whether it’s more health, wealth, or happiness, you can chant this mantra to the goddess Lakshmi, the Hindu embodiment of good fortune, prosperity, and beauty – 108 times every day for 40 days.
Thomas Ashley-Farrand said he’s heard many amazing success stories of how people’s situations have improved by invoking Lakshmi.
Sometimes the mantra allows just a small stream of abundance to trickle into relationships, health or finances. But other times a flood of good fortune comes very quickly.
Find out for yourself by beginning the money mantra chant. Here it is:
Om shrim maha lakshmiyei swaha
Phonetically it’s: Om shreem mah-hah lahk-shmee-yay swah-hah
And it means: “Om and salutations to she who manifests every kind of abundance.”
(Please note: if you’re under age 28, you’re supposed to chant “namaha” instead of “swaha.”)
I don’t know why it works, but it sure seems to. (Even before you get to day 40.) Some people just chant it for 10 minutes rather than count out 108 – but those in the know insist there’s significance to 108 repetitions.
You may also considering combining this technique with the pray rain journaling process for extra money magic.
Have fun with it if you feel inspired to play. And if you’ve got positive experiences to share about this mantra, we’d love to hear them!
